A lot of photographers make these mistakes when posting:
Surface-level captions that say nothing. (Ex: “Mother and daughter session in a dreamy flower field! Book a session with me!”)
Telling people to book without giving them a reason.
Making their content all about THEM instead of their clients.
Stop just saying what’s in the photo.
Stop being vague about why people should book.
Stop making your content feel like a used car sales pitch.

Instead, start doing this:
Tell stories. What made this session special? Why did this client book in the first place? How did they feel seeing their photos?
Speak to what THEY care about. People don’t just want “pretty pictures.” They want memories captured, time frozen, and experiences they can relive.
Sell the problem you solve, not just the product you have.
Example: A Better Instagram Caption
What Not to Post:
“Mother and daughter session in a dreamy flower field! Book a session with me today!”
(This tells me nothing about why I should care.)
What to Post Instead:
“Moms always tell me the same thing—‘I just want ONE good photo of me and my daughter before she grows up too fast.’ And every time, I remind them: you don’t just need one photo. You need proof that you were there. That you held them. That you were in the middle of these fleeting, messy, beautiful moments.
That’s what I give you. A stress-free, fun, let-your-kids-be-kids session where you walk away with more than just ‘one good photo’—you walk away with memories you can hold onto forever.
Don’t wait until next year. Your kids are already growing. Let’s capture this season before it’s gone.
See the difference? One is selling a session. The other is selling the why.
How to Show Up & Actually Attract Clients
Be consistent. Post even if it feels like no one is watching. They are.
Talk about what makes YOU different. What’s unique about your process, your experience, your style?
Give people a reason to book NOW. What will they miss if they wait too long?
Make it about them. Your audience doesn’t care about “just another session.” They care about what it means for them.
Start creating content that speaks to your people—and watch what happens.
